"I am one of the Zerg now, and I like what I am."
(StarCraft; 1998) How can you make a boring blank T-shirt one of your favourites? By putting your favourite motif on it! The idea was taken from here. It’s a very fast and cheap method to obtain a new piece of clothing. My motif is the Zerg logo from the game “Starcraft”. Every motif is good as long as you like it. You don’t need to be talented in drawing. Simply search for it in Google graphics and choose a picture of a high resolution. My T-shirt has been washed many times and the motif is still of perfect quality.
difficulty: easy
estimated time: 10 minutes
You need:
- chlorine-based bleach (God forbid, don’t use a stain remover – it’s effects would be barely seen), Clorox is the best here
- a blank T-shirt in your size, best if made of quite thin fabric (I have tested many colors and the most visible effect you can achieve on green, black, brown and blue t-shirts, I do not recommend red ones)
- a bottle with a sprayer top (I do not recommend the bottles of various house cleaners , their spatter is difficult to control, so the most precise are bottles with a sprayer like those for cosmetics and perfumes)
- a piece of white construction paper (A4)
- old newspaper
- scissors

Tutorial steps:
1. Search for the motif you want to make on your T-shirt and print it on the piece of construction paper.
2. Cut out the printed shape to make a template.
3. Place the template on the T-shirt, where you want to make the motif. Put several pieces of newspaper inside the T-shirt, under the template to prevent the bleach to soak through and destroy the other side of it. Then, cover the rest of the T-shirt with an old newspaper. You can also crumple it around the template to make an interesting design (like in the video).
4. Pour a little bit of the bleach to the bottle with a sprayer top.
5. Spray the template with the bleach and if you crumpled the T-shirt around the template instead of covering it, spray it too. Wait for a few minutes. In the meantime, pour back the rest of the bleach from the small bottle to the original bottle. Plastic bottles are not designed for such aggressive compounds. If you don’t do it, they will eat away the plastic and can destroy the piece of furniture you left it on.
6. Remove the template from the T-shirt. Hang it on a hanger and leave it in your bathroom or outside for a night to get rid of the chlorine smell. Make sure that the fabric doesn’t touch itself in too many points. Next day, wash it and it’s finished!
